Yet I’m also wondering when we are getting one of our own? How can a co-opted MAGA be brought to heel and that same enthusiasm for our nation, people, and culture find a voice in a new party?

I agree with that sentiment. While this is anecdotal, I wanted to share.
We had a large gathering of extended family last weekend, probably spanned 4 generations. Among the men, an intense debate raged about Israel, their involvement in our government/politics, and Iran.
There was a crystal clear divide generationally. Millennial and Gen Z seeing Israel for what it is and the control of our nations by the Epstein class with abhorrence to the thought of US attacking Iran. However, the Boomer and Gen X folks see Israel as a great ally and believe in our duty to defend them at all costs with Iran being a country full of bloodthirsty terrorists that hate our way of life and will nuke us in a second if given an opportunity.
Everyone involved was politically conservative. It just splits along the generational lines which is fascinating.
