I updated this today, 14th February 2025, as it became news again. I added the entry of JD Vance on to the list, whose name was included following his nomination for US Vice President in July 2024.
So, the weapons of war are deployed against us, within countries and they currently need not be kinetic. This was predicted: “ World War III is a guerrilla information war with no separation between military and civilian participation “ marshal McLuhan. Please notice the current tense, IS. He thought we were already at war in the 1960s.
The tide is not about to turn, the future is information warfare, millennia long information battles. McLuhan’s teachings: the technological shift is the message, it reorders our world unbeknownst to us and how we use technology, the content, it beguiles us, it is not the point. This is war waged through information, the battlefield will be defined in these terms henceforth.
This is an excellent article, and it is a clear explication of the phenomenon of information war. This will be the state of play for humanity, for maybe 1000 years until our next extension.
Our inventions control us. We do not control our inventions. Electricity usurped time and space, collapsed our world, an implosion after 1000 years of explosion and specialization of the mechanical paradigm.
Please, I have no expertise, but, I studied under Eric McLuhan and I am quite certain the premise of the medium being the message is undervalued
I think a McLuhan counter argument would be real reality ceased to exist or even be a possibility with the usurpation of time and space, the extension of human consciousness to envelop the globe as ushered in by our invention of electricity : a new paradigm. That is to say the mechanical paradigm had a “real reality”, but electricity forbids the creation of a real reality it is like gravity it is immutable. There is no return.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in “ A world split apart “ said that the root of our world was the renaissance revolution and the liberal paradigm of specialization embodied in the enlightenment. (I’ve added the word specialization to help me make my point.)
With enlightenment, we got smart, but he says, we made a mistake.
He said it was likely inevitable that we would get smart, because the middle ages died of “exhaustion, it was a despotic repression of man’s physical nature in favour of a spiritual one”.
The mistake : man as the centre of all, anthropomorphicity, your project.
Why do I bother with all this? Because medium is the message tells us that the the extension of our consciousness, through the instantaneous communications of electric technology is the reordering of our world, a new paradigm, now over 100 years old.
Our thought experiment, anthropomorphicity was only that, an idea, it was constrained by the mechanical paradigm, as expressed in religions or more simply, the availability of “real reality.” It is why we thrived in the west: science as an enhancement.
Paul Kingsnorth says the secret to life is people place and prayer and that without these we are bereft. Science, and meaning together: our physical and spiritual world working together. The west thrived like no other. One hell of a good recipe.
But Real reality is no longer available . All information and all conversations are available simultaneously. The illness this creates, is felt by all and all concluded it requires warfare.
Your article suggests malfeasance. My argument is that it will require us to perpetrate malfeasance to counter it.
The dark ages are upon us, but this time, our physical nature, not our spiritual nature, is at the core, we have replaced God with ourselves. Arguing, the contrary is not available, the technology makes it so.
Of course I might be wrong.
Interestingly, I have found McLuhan‘s grandson Andrew a learned fellow but not of the academy, so capable of actual learning and teaching, and he lives 30km from my cottage. I plan to inflict myself on him. Sometimes people get sick of me. Most people. I think I’m wired differently. Maybe I’m too Ernest.
Oh I think the age is very dark indeed. I do not think it has to be all consuming, mind you, and I don't think it will. There is still some real reality left. The naivete over digital media, smartphones and the content itself will be outgrown by some, others will grow into it.
Yes. What was the strategy here? It is a scattershot approach at best. Apart from what I have written myself, the clue is in the title. LIFE SITE.
James Pond Life is a bit more accurate in my experience. I would not get carried away with the idea of total control mainly because it now relies on the capability of mediocrities to enforce it.
I didn't publish the piece on British Army Intelligence because I got distracted - but if you imagine a bunch of reddit moderators whining about their hairstyle privileges you get the idea. I am probably going to pitch that somewhere else now, because there is a lot of interest in the "wokeness" of the British military. I will republish it here if so.

Bear in mind these OSINT experts contacted a Catholic news outlet called "LIFESITE" to smear an anti-abortion politician.
I think your wider point valid though - the battlespace of the brain and all that. I think it will commend the merits of real reality as it advances.
Thanks.

We are entering a new dark ages.

I had to read Roger Penrose once and I am not going to do it again.
What do you think of my diatribe? Is there any there there?
Do you mean they are inept? That despite the money and the contacts they are not very capable?

I am inclined to agree. It is even a ray of hope. That quotas and general decline have hammered the apparatus they want to use to control us.
