Perhaps the simplest means of distilling the predicament known as reality is to say it is a battle between the forces of evil and those of good. Beyond politics, money and tribal allegiance there is one basic question posed by the modern world - are you for Satan, or against him?

By means of relief from my too-long essays, here is a selection of beautiful images to inspire you in this spiritual battle. We are surrounded by the wickedness and chaos of a New Sodom, but we do not have to be of it.

Beauty matters. They hate beauty. Cleave to the good and to the fine, and marvel at the wonders done for the glory of God.
