The war on the family is ongoing. Our system of values – not ‘our values’ but the ones with which we are obliged to agree – is one which seems dedicated to the replacement of the family with anything else.
Once considered the basic unit of any sane society, the family is under attack. Babies can be created in test tubes, and sold on to strangers through attractively branded commercial operations. The institution of marriage, bedrock of the family, has been systematically demonised and undermined by attacks from many directions. The hyper-individualism of this ideology is anathema to any institution or custom which relies on a wider basis of reality than the self.
